Educational workshops for schools and corporate clients
Chocolate is such a fun product to work with whether for primary, secondary schools and makes a fun ice breaker or learning medium for corporate events/ training.
Primary School Workshops
Chocolate links closely with Mayans, Aztecs, food related topics (luxury food, fair trade) and of course Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I have received some fantastic feedback from teachers including 'excellent presentation and delivery', and 'interesting, fun and educational' with a yr 3 commenting that my chocolate workshop was the best morning he'd EVER had!
I offer 3 different workshops -
- topic based,
- junior chocolatier - chocolate produce
- junior chocolatier - chocolate manufacture.
Topic based workshops include;
- chocolate taste testing (which gets the children talking)
- create a chocolate lollipop
- educational task
The presentation is bespoke to your school so is based around your topic (Mayans, Food, The Apprentice) and how it links to chocolate. I usually incorporate the bean to bar story, history of chocolate etc.
Additionally if you are a specialist school (creative/science/maths etc) I aim to select an educational task to tie in with your specialism.
The Junior Chocolatier workshops include;
- chocolate tasting
- either making chocolate from beans OR
- using different techniques to make chocolate products
- Either bean to bar story OR history of chocolate
- Packaging their produce
The children work with Belgian Chocolate and take all produce home at the end of the workshop.
Workshops are delivered at your school and I can deliver up to 2 workshops a day with up to 32 pupils in each, for all year groups.
All expected documentation can be provided on request.
I can also theme workshops as entrepreneur events suitable for years 5/6.
Secondary School Workshops
I run a new business start up workshop for secondary schools either as a half or full day.
These incorporate two or three elements of starting a business, using chocolate throughout as the product. The workshop concludes with students presenting their business plan to the teachers.
Popular in the run up to Christmas, I can offer a fun chocolate activity as an ice breaker for an event or full on team building and leadership training, using the chocolate as a medium.
